What is it? It's exactly like it says, a day spent "casting" for the fish and then "blasting" for the ducks and geese.
And for me, it's an absolute blast to guide these combo trips. This is one of my all time favorite ways to guide
sportsmen during the late fall and winter season and slots do book quickly..
The Skagit Flats and a few select areas John's Guide Service has private access to has long been known for its wing
shooting opportunities at migrating water-fowl and the fishing in the area speaks for itself.

I first started running "Cast and Blast" trips up in Alaska about 8 years ago fishing for Silver Salmon and
hunting both ducks and Spruce Grouse all in the same day and had an absolute "blast" doing it, so upon my return home from Alaska
two years ago I decided to give it a shot down here.
During water-fowl season you can expect to find large numbers of Canadian Geese, Mallards, Teal and
more along with large runs of Salmon and Winter-run Steelhead.
Recently, we added grouse to our fall repetoire for cast and blast trips. Ruffed Grouse frequent the lush river
lowlands, while Blue Grouse populate the local hills. Both species are gorging themselves on berries which makes
for sweet eats. There's nothing better than an afternoon spent hiking through God's country on a grouse hunt to top
a fun morning of fishing.
Although John's Guide Service will provide all fishing tackle and gear for your trip you need to provide your own fire-arm
and ammo along with all applicable licenses.
