Washington Deer Hunting
Guided fair chase deer hunting trips in Washington State with John's Guide Service. Hunting guide and outfitter for black-tail, white-tail and mule deer hunts in Washington State.

Our custom tailored fair chase Deer hunts are conducted for the most part in the foothills of the scenic and majestic North Cascade mountains, both on the East side and West side of the mountains, by either John Koenig of John's Guide Service or one of two of our hand selected experienced associate guides.

On the day before your hunt you will be met either by John or one of our other associate guides to discuss the plan of the day which may involve a combination of driving, stalking, tree-stand or ground-blind hunting in one of our previously scouted hunting areas.

All of our local hunting areas are scouted at least once a week to ensure resident game species have not moved on and remain in the area.

Black-Tail Deer Hunting:

Our black-tail deer season begins the first part of September (early archery deer only) for two-point or better or antler-less deer. Hunting during this time is usually done from a tree-stand or ground blind in the lower elevations or by spot and stalk hunting in the higher elevations for higher mountain bucks.
Muzzleloader season follows right after our early archery season in mid September for two-point or better bucks and is primarily done using spot and stalk hunting methods.
Modern firearm season opens in mid October and is usually done in the foothills of the Cascade mountains in logged off areas for two-point or better buck only black-tailed deer. We also guide hunts on the East side of the North Cascades for Mule Deer and White-tailed deer primarily using spot and stalk methods in a three-point or better buck area.
We end our black-tail deer season here with our late archery season beginning in mid to late November. The deer have usually moved down out of the higher elevations by this time to begin their rutting season. Hunting the rut is primarily done from ground blinds and tree stands in previously selected areas where mature bucks are active and can be easily called in.

Upon completion of your hunt your game will be dressed immediately and caped accordingly to ensure quality and freshness for your trip home.

Whether you choose a single day hunt or a multiple day hunt, all lodging, food, tags and licenses will be your responsibility but we will be happy to help in making arrangements for your stay.

White-Tail and Mule Deer:

White-tail and Mule deer guided hunts are done during modern-firearm season only. Hunts are guided in the Methow Valley area just east of the North Cascades and should be booked well in advance to insure availability during prime hunting times and to allow ample time to set up lodging and travel arrangements. A $50.00 fuel surcharge per trip will be added to all Eastern Washington hunts.

"Hey John had a great time, appreciate everything, including those up close and personnel experiences this Hawaiian boy has never experienced before. You know I thought I was getting good at spotting that bear sign, which just happened to be all around us, but for some reason what I thought was a freshly clawed up tree, turned out to be some damn moss. The nerve, playing tricks on those Hawaiians. Ha Ha! Could not have asked for a better guide, even though I did not harvest a bear I had the greatest time, and saw some of the most beautiful scenery. Like you said John, Guide not God! Aloha a me Mahalo nui loa!!!!"
