In the North Puget Sound area, the Skagit and Sauk are John's home rivers,
but he can also be found on the Skykomish, Snohomish, Stillaguamish, and Snoqualmie Rivers
in the Seattle area. In addition, John guides the best the Olympic Peninsula has to offer as well,
including the Hoh, Bogachiel, Sol Duc and Clearwater Rivers.
All trips are custom catered to fit you and your skill level, fishing method and desired species.
John offers both gear and fly fishermen (and women) the best opportunities available throughout the
year, fishing for Salmon, Steelhead, Sturgeon, Dolly Varden, and Trout.
Your trip includes one full day of fishing, usually lasting 8 or more hours, traveling in style
and comfort out of a 16' Hyde drift boat with forced air heating (yes, forced air heating!)
a 22' Boulton jet sled equipped with all the latest bells and whistles, or a 14' Aire Pac 1400 Raft with Casting Decks both Bow and Stern.
Our drift boat is designed to comfortable accommodate 2 to 3 anglers, our jet sled 4 to 5 anglers and our raft 2 anglers.

All of your fishing equipment including bait and tackle from some of the best names
in the industry, (Lamiglas, Sage, St. Croix, Cabelas, Shimano, Ross, and Lamson among others)
is provided for your use.
Limits vary depending on river systems and current Dept. of Fish and Wildlife regulations.
Where allowable, limits on salmon and hatchery steelhead can be retained and your fish will be cleaned
and bagged for you at the end of the day. Please note: John's Guide Service endorses catch and release principles on Wild Steelhead.
A picture of your fish will last forever! In a trophy Wild Steelhead situation, measurements and pictures will be taken and arrangements
can be made to have a replica mount made of your trophy catch. Check Out
Blackwater Trading Company on information regarding Fish Mounts.
I pride myself in my teaching ability; from getting that perfect drift with a cluster of eggs and float fishing with a 10' rod
to forming that nice tight loop with a fly rod and getting that perfect presentation of your fly that the fish can't resist.
My favorite students are children. Not only are they the future of fishing, but, if you teach a child to fish and get them hooked on it;
you've also taught them patience, concentration, and the love of the outdoors. Please note: Children under 14 are required to wear
life jackets. John's Guide Service does supply coast guard approved life jackets for all clients, not just children. Adults are not required to
wear them, but they are available at all times.

To figure out the weight of a fish from measurements taken try out our Fish Calculator:
All you need is the length of your fish and the girth of your fish,
and then type the values in the boxes provided below. GIVE IT A TRY!!
This is merely an approximation using a formula devised by the Fish and Wildlife Department from fish that were, weighed and measured.
